I found that the hood goes on real easy and not hard at all to get off if you use a gentle touch. It locks on nicely and only needs a soft compression of side tabs to get off.Press too hard and you get disappointed. Definitely over-priced for what little plastic there is but the black felting on the inside does eliminate any reflected glare.If someone can make a knock-off for half the price they would get rich..
