I took the non-kit route and bought a house and this lens separately.After weeks of searching the web and reading far too many reviews for the perfect all-purpose lens, I couldn't resist the range and price of this lens.A 18-270mm in this price range and with the best reviews was hard to miss. The photos have been phenomenal and the VC (vibration compensation) works better than expected.Along with strong zoom range, who slept with accepted practice and sometimes creep lenses, which can be prevented by locking elements, this lens was a pearl I had hoped for and delivered..
